An equinox represents a day with equal duration of day and night (March 21 and Sept 23) and thus we have a spring and fall an equinox.
And solstice refers to a day with either the longest day ( June 21 ) or shortest day ( Dec 21).

in simplest terms , an equinox represents a day. with equal duration of day and night and solstice refers to a day with either the longest day or shortest day
also there is a huge difference:
solstice is a point during the earth's orbit around the sun.w hich is at a great distance from the equator.
but while equinox it is at the closest
