Evaporation and boiling both are the changing of water into water vapour, but there is a difference between each!
Evaporation
- Evaporation can happen at any temperature below the boiling point.
- Evaporation causes cooling effect to the surroundings.
- Evaporation is a surface phenomena. It starts from the surface of container.
- It is a slow process.
Boiling
- Boiling happens only at boiling point or temperature above boiling point.
- It doesn't cause cooling effect to the surroundings.
- Boiling is a bulk phenomena. It starts from the bottom of container.
- It is a fast process when compared to evaporation.
