Different between general election or by election

By election happens after some seat fall vacant due to death of or resignation of elected member byelection happens just for that particular vacant seat. New elected member then occupies the seat for remaining period of the term. By definitiongeneral election is the rule and by election should be theexception .

By election means election that is conducted to replace the place of previous leader. This type of elections are conducted only if the leader resigns his post or this might happen if the leader is dead or if the leader's rule is not liked by the people...
