In subsistence agriculture farmer grows for his own family and self sustenance and is dependent omit for his day to day need subsistence agriculture includes nomadic herding and shifting agriculture



intensive: landholding is small but per hectare yield is high, high labour force, modern machines, generally more than one crop is grown, practised in thickly populated region, only one crop is cultivated, maximum production from small land

commercial agriculture large scale crops are raised for the purpose of selling products in the market. farmer selects single crop according to the natural and market conditions of the region
