A metacentric chromosome has two equal arms because the centromere can be found in the median position. A telecontric chromosome, on the other hand, is like a straight rod. Its centromere is in the terminal position.

Answer:
The major difference between metacentric chromosome and telocentric chromosome is in the "position of the centromere" in each of these chromosomes.
In Metacentric chromosome, the "centromere" is located almost "near the centre" and both the sections of the chromosome are "nearly equal in length", whereas,
In Telocentric chromosome, the "centromere" is located at the "end of the chromosome".
"Metacentric Chromosomes" are seen to occur in humans, but "Telocentric Chromosomes" doesn't occur in humans.
