In tje prokaryotic cell the genetic material is suspended in the cytoplasm. This unorganized genetic material is at the centre and is called nucliod.
In eukaryotic cell the genetic material is inside the nucleus in the form of entanlged thread like structure called the Chromatin material. This chromatin condenses to form the chromosomes at the time of cell division.

The primary distinction between these two types of organisms is that eukaryotic cells have a membrane-bound nucleus and prokaryotic cells do not. ... The nucleus is only one of many membrane-bound organelles in eukaryotes. Prokaryotes, on the other hand, have no membrane-bound organelles.
