Eggs of culex are vertically laid in clusters on the surface of the water whereas of anopheles are laid singly and horizontally on the surface of the water. Larva of culex mosquito is bottom feeder whereas of anopheles mosquito is surface feeder. The culex mosquito transmits filarial parasite.
