waste lands are those lands which are not capable to regain its fertility easily it might take many of years to regain its fertility.
Whereas
Bad land are those land in which fertility is low or temporarily low fertile , & it could regain its fertility easily, in earlier times In history topic We know that if we grow an indigo tree in a particular land the tree makes the land loose its fertility for temporary till the tree is alive , this term is known is bad land
