They belong to two different families of Reptiles:the alligatoridae (alligators);the crocodylidae (crocodiles). They differ in theshape of the Jaw, Crocodiles have longer and more pointed "V" shaped jaws, while the alligators have wide U -shaped rounded Snouts.
