In Uttarakhand there are many traditional systems which is Naula (little depression aquifer), Dhara (springs), Gadhera (small river tributaries), Gul (traditional irrigation canals) Chal and Khal (artificial ponds on hilltops)
Also in Karnataka Improved irrigation techniques, such as sprinklers or drip irrigation. Adoption of better farming techniques, such as minimum tillage, leaving crop residue on fields, intercropping etc.
