Different substance having same mass may have different weight because if you take one of the object to space, you will find zero weight or if you take it to any other planet, where g ≠ 9.8m/s² you will find different weight. Weight totally dependent on the gravitational pull, but mass remains the same throughout the universe.

Now lets take container B and put a cotton having the same 50% mass of the container but its weight is 500 g .
