Ores are mineral rocks which are taken out by mining and extracted to give metals and other elements. Ores contain various elements in different amounts thus, their extraction provides us with varying amounts of pure elements.
Some important types of ores are-
1. Haematite ore (Oxide ore from which Metal - Iron is extracted.)
2. Zinicate ore (Oxide ore from which Metal - Zinc is extracted)
3. Cuprite ore (Oxide ore from which Metal - Copper is extracted)
4. Bauxite ore (Oxide ore from which Al is extracted)
5. Copper pyrite( sulphide ore from which - Copper is extracted)
6. Magnesite (Carbonate ore from which Metal- Magnesium is extracted)
