Black soil:

  • Also known as "Black Cotton Soil" as they are of dark brown color and suitable for cotton

Laterite Soil:

  • In some areas, these soils support grazing grounds & scrub forests

Alluvial Soil:

  • Mostly flat & regular soils
  • Porosity & texture provide good drainage
  • Highly productive because of its fertile nature
  • Crops grown: Rice, wheat, sugarcane, tobacco, cotton, jute, maize, oil seeds, vegetables, fruits
