There are some models to grow crops to get maximum benefit from crop production management:

Mixed cropping:

Mixed cropping is the process where farmers can grow more than one crop in a field. If one crop fails to grow due to pathogen or pest attack, then the other crop can grow to substitute the failure production of one crop.

For example: Groundnut and sunflower/gram.

Intercropping:

Intercropping is the process where more than one crop can grow in a row formation in one field.

Example: Soyabean and Maize.

Crop rotation:

Crop rotation is the process where farmers can grow more than one crop in a successive rotation.

For Example: Normally leguminous crop is rotated with the non-leguminous crop.
