Yu (Cantonese fall into this) and Min, but a written system, "Chinese",
while Japan has only spoken Japanese but there are three separate writing systems. . ... Kanji and written Chinese are very similar, but they are not exactly the same.
China and Japan are two of the most well known countries in Asia. People in Western society often link the the two nations together.
● Be aware of how geography has shaped the two cultures. China covers a vast amount of land on the mainland of Asia, whereas Japan is a group of islands.
● The Chinese food is different by the area but it has strong flavor. North China is better known for its noodle and grain based dishes, while Southern China is traditionally more of rice based dishes. Japanese dishes are known for its fine taste.
● Japanese cuisine uses lots of fish stores (Dashi), Kelp, Miso, Soya sauce, sake, and rice vinegar. Japanese rice is sticky short grain rice, which seems to be sticky. Japanese famous food examples include sushi, tempura and ramen.
