FEBRUARY REVOLUTION:
Main effects: 1) On 22 Feb. 1971 a lockout took place at a factory and women led the procession. 2) On 25 Feb. govt. suspended the Duma. 3) On 26 and 27 Feb. a general strike of workers which was soon joined by soldiers. 4) On 2 march tsar abdicated. Soviet leaders and Duma leaders formed a provisional govt.
Effects: 1) The fall of the autocracy of Tsar. 2) Restrictions on public meetings and associations were removed.

OCTOBER REVOLUTION:
Main effects: 1) April 1971-Bolshevik leader Lenin returned to Russia. 2) July-Demonstration by the Bolsheviks against the Provisional govt. 3) On 16 Oct. 1971 Lenin persuaded the petrograd Soviet and the Bolshevik Party to agree to a socialist seizure to power. 4) On 24 Oct. the Bolshevik uprising in Petrograd.
Effects: 1) Fall of Provisional govt. 2) Russia adopted socialism. 3) Peace
