• saturated compounds are having single bond whereas the unsaturated compounds have double or triple bonds.
• they don't decolourise bromine in bromine water test. whereas unsaturated compounds change colour.
Sodium is very reactive so to prevent the reaction it is kept in kerosene.

Saturated compounds have a single bond between Carbon atoms while Unsaturated compounds may have 2 or 3 bonds between carbon atoms.
Unsaturated compounds when reacts with KMnO4 then the pink colour is lost while the colour is not lost when saturated compounds react with KMnO4
