(a) Psychiatrists are medical doctors who graduate from medical school,have a year of medical internship and 3 years of residency in the assessment and treatment of mental health disorder. Psychologists have a doctoral degree in the field of psychology, the study of mind and human behaviour. They are not medical doctors.
