if we see in a circuit there the rod connected to negative terminal of battery is known as cathode and the rod connected to positive terminal is anode the cation is a positive particle so it will be attracted to cathode which is negatively charged similarly anion is negatively charged particle which is attracted by positively charged rod anode

I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU

Santhosh444: kk
soumyaguota: ok
Santhosh444: cation is positively charged ion
Santhosh444: anion is negatively charged ion
Santhosh444: cathode is negatively charged rod
Santhosh444: anode is positively charged rod
Santhosh444: so
Santhosh444: cation is attracted by cathode
Santhosh444: and anion is attracted by anode
Santhosh444: because unlike charges atttact each other

 \bold{Cation}

✔Positively charged ions are known as cations.

✔Cations are formed by loss of electrons by an atom.

✔In a cation, number of electrons are less than number of protons.

✔Eg:-  {Na}^{ + } ,   {Mg}^{2 + }

 \bold{Anion}

✔Negatively charged ions are known as anions.

✔Anions are formed by gaining of electron by an atom.

✔In anions, number of electrons are more than the number of protons.

✔Eg:-  {Cl}^{ - } ,  {O}^{2 - }
