Distinguish between chloroplast and leucoplast

Chloroplasts are organelles found in plant cells and eukaryotic algae that conduct photosynthesis. Chloroplasts absorb light and use it in conjunction with water and carbon dioxide to produce sugars.Leucoplasts are a category of plastid and as such are organelles found in plant cells. They are non-pigmented, in contrast to other plastids such as the chloroplast.

Leucoplasts and Chloroplasts are the organelles present in plant cell.

These are two types of plastids.

Leucoplasts are colourless whereas chloroplasts are green in colour

Leucoplasts stores fats whereas chloroplast contains chrophyll which helps in photosynthesis.

AtharvaPunekar: u am are mad you didn't read the question correctly
AtharvaPunekar: it's chromoplast not chloroplast
jaswithabode: sorry
jaswithabode: Chromoplast is a pigmented type of plastid found in fruits, flowers, roots and ageing leaves. Chromoplasts produce distinct coloured pigments. Chloroplasts convert into chromoplasts in ripening fruits. Carotenoids and xanthophylls are two common pigments synthesised by chromoplasts. Carotene is an orange colour pigment while xanthophylls are yellow in colour.
