The main differences between the nucleotides of DNA and RNA are:
1. The nucleotide of DNA contains the nitrogenous bases as adenine, guanine, thymine and cytosine whereas in RNA the nitrogenous bases are adenine, guanine, cytosine and uracil. Here thymine in DNA is replaced by uracil in RNA.
2. DNA has a double stranded molecule but RNA has a single stranded molecule only.
3. In a DNA nucleotide the nitrogenous bases are linked together but in RNA the nitrogenous bases are not linked together
