Municipal corporation=Mahanagar palika,
1)They govern metropolitan cities with population 1M+.
2)Their functions are to provide health care,education,housing & transport.
3)They collect property tax & fixed grant from State government.
4)Mayor is the head of corporation.

Municipality=Nagar palika,
1)They administer a cit with population 1 lakh or more.
2)Generally small districts & large towns have it.
3)Its functions are as same as Municipal corporation,municipalities also get their income by tax levied on water,house,market,vehicle,entertainment and grants from State government.
