a. Prokaryotes:

1. Nucleus is absent.
2. It contains single chromosome.
3. Nucleolus is absent.
4. Organelle bounded by membrane are absent.

Eukaryotes:

1. Nucleus is present.
2. It contains more than one chromosome.
3. Nucleolus is present.
4. Organelles bounded by membranes are present.

b. RER :

1. It produces enzymes of lysosomes.
2. It also form supporting skeletal framework of the cell.

SER :

1. It enables in process of detoxification.
2. It helps in biosynthesis of cholesterol.

The main difference lies between the SER and RER is the presence of ribosomes, as SER do not have ribosomes but RER have ribosomes. SER mainly produce and export lipids and protein and function for detoxification, while RER produces, secrete and export proteins and few hormones.
