Answer:

a. A change which can happen backward, that is, can be reversed is called a reversible change. However, a change which cannot happen backward, that is, it cannot be reversed is called an irreversible change.

b. Some examples of physical change are freezing of water, melting of wax, boiling of water, etc. A few examples of chemical change are digestion of food, burning of coal, rusting, etc.

c. By definition, evaporation is a process where water changes into vapour. Condensation is the opposite process where water vapour is converted to tiny droplets of water.

d. The difference between Contraction and Expansion. When used as nouns, contraction means a reversible reduction in size, whereas expansion means the act or process of expanding.

\large{\underline{\underline{\bf{Reversible \: and \: Irreversible \: change:-}}}}

Reversible Change The change which reverses by reversing the conditions, called Reversible Change. For example, Ice when heated gives water, etc.

Irreversible Change ➠ The change which is permanent and cannot change by changing the conditions is called Irreversible Change. For example, Curdling of milk, etc.

\large{\underline{\underline{\bf{Physical \: and \: Chemical \: changes:-}}}}

Physical Change A change in which no new substance is formed, called Physical Change. For example, The melting of ice, etc.

Chemical Change ➠ A change in which new substance is formed, called Chemical Change. For example, The burning of coal or wood, etc.

\large{\underline{\underline{\bf{Evaporation \: and \: Condensation:-}}}}

Evaporation ➠ The process of changing of a liquid into vapour below its boiling point, called Evaporation.

Condensation ➠ The conversion of a liquid into solid form is known as Condensation. This process is also known as Freezing.

\large{\underline{\underline{\bf{Expansion \: and \: Contraction:-}}}}

Expansion ➠ When heat is provided to the substance, the size of the substance increases, this process is known as Expansion.

Contraction When the substance becomes cool, the size of the substance decreases, this process is known as Contraction.
