the particles of solid are closely packed together.
solid have fixed shape and volume.
solid doesn't flow.
solid doesn't fill its container completely.
eg. stone, tree, etc...
liquid
the particles of liquid are closely packed together but not as solid.
the liquid doesn't have a fixed shape
the liquid has fixed volume
it can flow easily.
it doesn't fill its container completely.
eg. milk, oil, water, etc..
gas
the particles of the gas are farther away
the gas has fixed the shape.
the gas doesn't have the fixed volume.
it generally flows
the gas fill its container completely.
eg. co2, nitrogen etc..
