Answer:

Unicellular means having one cell, while acellular means being without cells.

Explanation:

Unicellular organism is made up of one cell, a being with a cell wall, that gets along fine on its own (like amoebas, protozoa or bacteria that usually move about all on their own) or which could get along fine on its own (like yeasts or algae, which usually grow in bunches or strings). Viruses, viroids, satellites, plasmids, phagemids, cosmids, transposons and prions are acellular "life". Acellular life is kind of a controversial thing, in that some people think that things that are not cells and have no cell walls, do not contain all the stuff to get by on their own. They do not have the equipment to reproduce on their own. They do not metabolize (burn fuel or food) for themselves either. If you call a thing alive because it reproduces, eats and dies, then it is very difficult to call an acellular thing a life form. But on the other hand, they do accomplish these things by stealing stuff. There is evidence that some of the acellular things once could do some of these things, but gave it up to be more durable parasites. Many of them evolve, and all of them reproduce in some manner, even if they enslave a cell to do it for them through parasitism.
