Acids are the substances which are sour in taste.
Bases are the substances which are bitter in taste.
Acids turn blue litmus paper red.
Bases turn red litmus paper blue.
According to Arrhenius concept Acids are the substances which gives H+ or hydronium ion when combine with water. And bases are the substances which gives OH-ion when combine with water.
Acids are the substances whose pH is in between 0-7 and bases are the s whose pH is in between 7-14.
