Acids: Are acidic in nature

           Acid hydrolysis yields H₃O⁺(Hydronium) ions

          Acids are sour in taste

          Acids are corrosive

          Acids upon reaction with carbonates yield salt+carbon dioxide+water

          Acids upon reaction with hydrogencarbonates yield salt+carbon dioxide+water

          ph=  7 ≥

         Turn blue litmus red

         Eg: HCl (ph: 3 to 3.4 )

Bases: Basic in nature

Base hydrolysis yields OH⁻ (Hydroxyl) ions

Bases are corrosive

Bitter in taste

Base+Carbonate/Hydrogencarbonate→ NO REACTION

PH= 7≤

Eg: NaOH (ph: 13)

They turn red litmus blue

Salts: Salts are neutral in nature

There are acidic salts (having ph 7≥) and basic salts(having ph 7≤)

Salts are formed by ionic bonds

No effect on litmus

Eg- NaCl
