acute diseases are those which remain in our body for a short time and don't effect us physically or mentally like cold and cough
whereas chronic diseases are those which remain for a long time and effects us physically as well as mentally like t.b. and cancer.
chronic diseases are more harmful as they make us inactive in our general activities because they makes our life processes slow and even destroys them like asthama in lungs.

Acute diseases last for a short period of time. Eg:- Common cold
Chronic diseases won't last for short period of time. Sometimes they stay for lifelong. Eg:- Cancer
Chronic diseases is more harmful because it may cause lots of risks like age, gender , level of education and genetic composition; Behavioural risk factors and etc.
