Differentiate between advertisement today and the advertisement during the beginning of industry (age of industrialisation)

during the beginning of industrialization the advertisement were for conveying the message to the viewers about the product but nowadays the advertisement is just for publicity....... they are just to waste the time and raise the electric bill..............
