★Aerobic respiration:-
- 1) Respiration which occurs in the presence of oxygen.
- 2) Complete breakdown of food into carbon dioxide and water.
- 3) Large amount of energy is released.
- 4) The process of breaking down of food in the presence of oxygen to release energy is called as Aerobic respiration.
★Anaerobic respiration:-
- 1) Respiration that occurs in the absence of oxygen.
- 2) Partial breakdown of food into alcohol and carbon dioxide.
- 3) Small amount of energy is released.
- 4) The process of breakdown of food in the absence of oxygen is called as anaerobic respiration.

- The process is breaking down of food in the absence of oxygen to release very small amount of energy is called as Anaerobic respiration. Yeast and bacteria are some organisms that breathe anaerobically. Alcohol and carbon dioxide are the end products of anaerobic respiration.
- In humans, Aerobic respiration takes place for a very short time when our body undergoes vigorous muscular activity during heavy exercise. Due to anaerobic respiration in muscles, lactic acid is produced because of partial breakdown of glucose. Muscle cramps are caused due to Accumulation of this lactic acid.

_______________________
- It occurs in presence of oxygen
- Glucose is oxidised.
- End product are Carbon dioxide and water
- More energy is produced
- It occurs in most of the plants and animals
_______________________
- It occurs in absence of Oxygen
- Glucose is Oxisidised incompletely
- End products are either ethyl alcohol or lactic acid and Canrbon dioxide
- Very little energy is produced
- It occurs in few organisms like yeast, bacteria etc...

Difination of aerobic respiration:-
It is the breakdown of glucose into carbon dioxide and water in the presence of oxygen inside body cells.
Organism that uses oxygen for respiration are called aerobes..
It is the process when the glucose is breakdown in absence of Oxygen
The animals and plants that survive and obtain energy even in the absence of oxygen are called anaerobes.
The anaerobic breakdown of sugars into alcohol is called fermentation
Glucose (In absence of oxygen ) ⟶ Ethyl alcohol + Carbon dioxide + Energy
