Hey dear
Here is ur answer
Alkanes are hydrocarbons (compounds containing only C and H) that have single covalent bonds joining the carbon atoms. The molecular formula of all alkanes fits the expression [math]C_{n}H_{2n+2}[/math], where n is the number of carbon atoms.
Alkenes are hydrocarbons (compounds containing only C and H) that have one or more C=C double bonds (two C atoms are linked by 4 shared electrons). The general formula is [math]C_{n}H_{2n}[/math], which is two hydrogen atoms less than the corresponding alkane.
Compared to alkanes, alkenes can undergo a larger range of chemical reactions such as combustion and various addition reactions( hydrogenation, addition polymerisation, hydration etc).
Hope it helps u

alkane are single bonded where as alkene are double bonded.
the general formula of alkane is CnH2n+2
and the general formula of alkene is
CnH2n-2
the general formula of alkane is CnH2n+2
and the general formula of alkene is
CnH2n-2
