A nephron is the basic unit of structure in the kidney. A nephron is used separate to water, ions and small molecules from the blood, filter out wastes and toxins, and return needed molecules to the blood. The nephron functions through ultrafiltration.

Alveoli are an important part of the respiratory system whose function it is to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide molecules to and from the bloodstream. These tiny, balloon-shaped air sacs sit at the very end of the respiratory tree and are arranged in clusters throughout the lungs.

ALVEOLI IN LUNGS :-

1. Alveoli are balloon like structures.

2. It is made up of one celled thick wall which contains extensive network of blood capillaries.

3. Alveoli are the site of gaseous exchange in lungs. Exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place between the blood flowing in capillaries which surround the alveoli and gases present in the alveoli.

NEPHRONS IN KIDNEY:-

1. Nephron are long tubular structures.

2. It is made up of glomerulus , Bowman's capsule and a long renal tube.

3. Nephron are the basic filteration unit of kidney. Each nephron filters the blood and separates the nitorgenous waste in the form of urine.
