differentiate between an atom and a molecule

AleenaSudheer313: it should be detailed
sarahpearson1054: An atom is the smallest constituent unit of ordinary matter that constitutes a chemical element. Every solid, liquid, gas, and plasma is composed of neutral or ionized atoms. Atoms are extremely small; typical sizes are around 100 picometers. A molecule is an electrically neutral group of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds. Molecules are distinguished from ions by their lack of electrical charge.

An atom is just that - a single atom or the smallest particle of an element. A molecule is two or more atoms joined together by what is called a COVALENT bond. There are other types of bond but molecules use ONLY covalent bonds in which outer electrons are shared between atoms.
