In botany, Androecium is the set of male stamens of the flower and the Gynoecium are the female pistils of flowers usually present as a group.
The gynoecium is present as an innermost whorl of pistils in a flower that is surrounded by the stamens, which are the pollen-producing male reproductive organs that are collectively called as the androecium.
Flowers with a gynoecium, but no stamens are called as pistillate or carpellate flowers and flowers without a gynoecium are called as staminate.
The Androecium can be reached by insects with a long proboscis, but the gynoecium cannot be reached by the insects.
