Differentiate between biodegradable and non-biodegradable substances. Also site their examples

Those substances that can be broken down by the action of enzymes released by bacteria is bio degradable
Whereas those that can't be broken down are non bio degradable.
Bio degradable takes days ,weeks ,months,or even few years. Whereas non bio degradable takes millions of years.
Not harmful other one harmful.
Ex:bio degradable-vegetable peeps , dead body of organism
Non bio degradable:plastic metals

biodegradable-substance which can be broken down by microorganisms like bacteria and fungi are called biodegradable substance. for example-paper ,vegetable and fruit peel ,human excreta etc.

non biodegradable-substance that cannot be broken down by microorganisms into simple and harmless substance are called non biodegradable substance. for example-polythene bags,aluminium cans,DDT etc.
