Biogas is the gas produced as a result of anaerobic decomposition of organic matter like food waste, excreta, silage etc.

Gobar gas is Biogas specifically produced from anaerobic digestion of cow dung. Biogas is the gas produced as a result of anaerobic decomposition of organic matter like food waste, excreta, silage etc., that has moisture content to support growth of Methane producing anaerobic bacteria.
Anaerobic digestion is a multi step processes in which a consortium of microorganisms act on a “complex organic matter”, in anaerobic conditions, to produce biogas. The gas produced during anaerobic digestion is a mixture of gases, H2, CO2, H2S and CH4. In general terms this mixture of gases is know as biogas.
However, when the complex organic matter is derived from cattle waste..or in simple term, Gobar/Cow dung we name the gases produced as Gobargas. That means, gas produced by anaerobic digestion of Cow dung in particular.
Other factors like absence of air and right temperature play a critical role. Since Biogas contains methane that is combustible, we use it as energy.
All gobargas is biogas but all biogas is not gobargas.
