Bisexual animals are the animals who have two sexes, male and female.Male produces sperms (male gametes) and female produces ova (female gametes). When sperms and ova unites by fertilization, the zygote is formed which develops into foetus and then organism itself. The numbers of chromosomes are haploid in gametes and deploid in zygote and organism itself.
In contrast, unisexual organisms can't be differentiated into two sexes, so there is no meiotically cell division and the numbers of chromosomes remain same at all stages of cell division.

A bisexual species refers to a species with distinct genders, male and female but also to an individual organism with characteristics of both genders.
Unisexual can also mean that the species as a whole has only one gender. There are some lizard species that have only females and reproduce through parthenogenesis. These are unisexual individuals of a unisexual species.
