1) It is hard . It is covered by periosteum .

2) Matrix is arranged in concentric layers called lamellae .

3) In the centre of bone , marrow cavity is present . Marrow cavity is filled with bone marrow .

CARTILAGE

1) It is a soft perichondrium covers the cartilage externally .

2) Matrix is not arranged in lamellae .

3) Marrow cavity and bone marrow absent .
