Bone is a rigid organ that constitutes part of the vertebrae skeleton. Bones protect various organs of the body, they produce red and white blood cells, store minerals, provide structure and support for the body and enable mobility

Cartilage is a resilient and smooth elastic tissue a rubber like padding that covers and protect the ends of long bones and joints and is a structural component of the rib cage, the ear, the nose and the bronchial tubes, the intervertebral discs and many other body components

Bone

  • Bones are the hard, mineralized tissues of the skeleton.
  • It is strong and rigid.

  • They are made of inorganic salts of calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus.
  • They provide support and framework to our body.
  • It protects the delicate internal organs such as brain, heart, and lungs.

Cartilage:-

  • It is softer and more flexible than a bone.
  • It does not have any blood supply.
  • Cartilage is made of special cells, called chondrocytes, present in a special matrix of collagen fibres, elastic fibres, and inorganic salts chiefly of magnesium.
  • It provides cushioning to the vertebrae and to the bones at the joints.
  • It also provides flexibility, shape and support to the ears, nose and trachea.
