Burst of the Monsson – Rainfall increses suddenly and continues constantly for several days. Break of Monsoons – Monsoon rains take place for few days only. And it characterised by rainless intervals.

Break of monsoons is the break in the monsoonal rainfall. It typically happens in the month of August. During this period, Monsoon trough shifts closer to the foothills of Himalayas, which leads to sharp decrease in rainfall over most parts of the country. However, there is increased rainfall along the foothills of Himalayas, North-east India and parts of Southern Peninsula.
