the basic differences are as follows

central nervous system provides quick instantaneous reactions or changes, but the effect of endocrine system is slow. Central nervous system can learn from previous experiences ( acquired reflex) but endocrine system cannot. The CNS cannot control or regulate metabolism or growth rate but these factors are exclusively under the control of endocrine system.

The biggest difference between the two is that the nervous system uses electrical impulses to send signals through neurones, whereas the hormonal system uses chemical messengers transported into blood plasma to target cells. ... This means that communication is faster when using the nervous system.
