Differentiate between charter and farman

A charter is a grant written by a country's legislature or from its sovereign power which is used to warrant an institution and establish it and within it, is defined the rights and privileges of that institution.
A farman, on the other hand, was a royal order that had the royal seal of the emperor. This was an order that came directly from the emperor and was in use during the Mughal period of the Indian history.
