Collenchyma is derived from parenchyma by the elongation of cells and thickening of primary cell wall only at the corners. It is located in the stem, leaf stalk, etc. Its cell wall is thick due to cellulose and pectin deposition. It provides mechanical support to the cell. Aerenchyma is a type of parenchyma. It has large air sacs present in it. It is mainly present in Aquatic Plants.
