Answer :
★ A colloid is a heterogeneous system in which one substance (dispersed phase) is dispersed as very fine particles in another substance called dispersion medium. The range of diameters of colloidal particles is between 1 and 1000nm
Depending on size of particles, solution are divided into three classes :
⧪ True solution : In true solution size of particles is less than 1nm.
⧪ Suspension : In suspension size of particles is greater than 1000nm.
⧪ Colloidal solution : In colloidal solution size of particles lies from 1nm to 1000nm.
