Answer:

Combination reaction:-

It is a chemical reaction in which two or more reactants combine with each other to form a new single product.

It releases  heat during the chemical reaction.

This means that it is exothermic .

Examples :-

1) 2H₂ + O₂ ---->2H₂O

2) 2Mg + O₂ --->2MgO

Decomposition reaction:-

It is a chemical reaction in which one reactant  breaks down into simpler compounds.

It absorbs heat from the surroundings during the chemical reaction.

IN other words , it is endothermic .

Examples :-

CaCO₃ ===> CaO + CO₂

2H₂O ===> 2H₂ + O₂

In combination reaction two or more elements or compounds react to form single product. i.e. CaO+CO2/→CaCO3, whereas in decomposition reactions a single reactant is broken into two or more substances.
