I can give the equation
In combustion
c2H5OH +3O2 = 2Co² + 3H²O

In oxidation
C2H5OH ____(alkaline KMno4)___CH³COOH

JessicaMalik: I want the difference
Anchal123: see in ocidation ethenol is oxidised in presence of alkalime KMno4 to get ethanoic acid
Anchal123: but in combustion ethenol is react with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide nd water
JessicaMalik: Okay
Priya1572: In combustion of ethanol carbon dioxide and water are formed along with heat and light energy but in oxidation ethanioc acid is formed.

combustion of ethanol -

1)carbon dioxide and water are formed as products

2)heat and light energy is released

3)catalyst is not required but bit ignition temperature is required

Oxidation reaction of ethanol -

1)ethanoic acid as product is formed

2)two oxygen atoms are added and when hydrogen atom is remoced

3)catalyst such as alkaline potassium permagnet or acidified potassium dichromate is required
