Differentiate between Cork and epidermis

The epidermis is permeable in nature, it is used as a protection against water loss and gas exchange and also helps in absorbing mineral and water. The cork, on the other hand, is a waterproof protective layer which can be found on the cork trees and consists of dead cells and this is impermeable in nature.
