Dalton introduced the symbols by their symbols that were so tough and difficult to understand. He was the scientist who introduced symbols.
Berzilius introduced symbols by using the first one or two letters of the elements. These were very easy.

Dalton is known as the Father of the Chemical Theory. He gave elements unique but difficult symbols to recognize them. It was very difficult to remember these symbols so this idea didn't get much importance and was superseded by Berzelius.
Jons Berzelius named elements by their original Latin name's first letter or by first and second letters for example for Sulphur S, Stannum Sn etc.
