• Public prosecutor is a lawyer appointed by Government and plead cases on behalf of government especially various crimes against public in general.

• A defense lawyer is appointed by individual client and take fee from his client and try to defend his client obviously.

• For example : if a person accused of a criminal act by a police, the public prosecutor frame the charges against him under and plead against him in the court of law.

• At the same time, the accused person may appoint a lawyer who is called as a defense lawyer and try to protect to his client on the same charges.                                                                                                  sorry I can't write in tabular form....
